Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Polaroid CZA-10011B PoGo Instant Mobile Printer (Black)Customer Review: Works as advertised. Don't expect beautiful pictures Summary: 4 StarsThis printer is a good novelty. Don't expect to be framing these pictures. I would never get this at full price, but for under $50, it's worth the fun. Definitely not good at printing low light photos. Great for parties, and printing from your phone. Kids like it too. Easy to set up with my Mac, and 2 bluetooth phones. (Of course not my iPhone, stated all over these reviews)
Customer Review: It's very convenient. Summary: 3 StarsYes, it's very convenient. But the print quality is not good.Overally it's cool. If your camaera has a bluetooth feature, this would be a great matching.
Customer Review: Really Very Cool Portable Printer! Recommended Summary: 4 StarsThis is a very handy little gadget that is a lot of fun at parties and events! The Polaroid PoGo is a little battery powered (rechargeable) printer that makes fairly good quality 2"x3" photos, with removable backing allowing them to be used as stickers. The prints take about a minute to print and come out completely dry and ready to handle. The printer did crop off the edges of my image so it's a good idea to make sure your subject is firmly in the center of the picture.
This printer is not designed to be connected to a computer, but rather uses BlueTooth from your cell phone (I didn't test this) or PictBridge when connected via USB to your digital camera (which is how I use it). Since this printer is so small, and runs on battery power, I can just pocket the fully charged printer, my camera, and my USB cable, and I'm a walking photo lab. Note that the USB cable is not included, but that is ok for me since my camera uses a proprietary cable.
So, this rates very high for convenience and ease of use but a little lower for picture quality.
Recommended!
**** UPDATE 12/30/2009 - Tested BlueTooth from my cell phone and it worked just fine! Still like this portable little printer!
Customer Review: A fun -and even useful- little gadget! Summary: 4 StarsJust tried it for the first time!
This isn't going to create archive quality photos - but I didn't buy it expecting that it would. I think I read someone's review said the quality is most similar to what you'd get from a photo booth filmstrip, which is a pretty good comparison, maybe not quite as good as that. Basically, it's a more modern version of a polariod instant camera - without the camera.
It synched up to my Canon Powershot (Elph) no problem. It does take a good 10 to 15 seconds to send the image, but it's no slower than most photo printers. I'd like to be able to print directly from the computer; I know it's not the original intent of the printer, but hopefully once I find the right cable to connect them that will be an option.
I also tried it with my cell phone, a Samsung A737; the phone found the device quickly and printed the image with no trouble. I then immediately tried printing from my Motorola Razr V3, and again, no problem.
I have a few ideas for how I'll use this, but it's perfect for my first project - taking pictures of each pair of shoes and sticking it to the outside of the plastic shoe storage box so I don't have to open all of the lids trying to find that one pair of shoes :). So, for the price I paid, it's a pretty cool label maker, lol. And I love that the film paper comes with removable backing; it sticks well.
It's a fun and very compact little printer; at the price I paid on sale, I would definitely recommend this. I don't think I would have paid more for it, definitely not what is shown as the list price. And I would recommend buying the larger packs of paper for better value.
Customer Review: Fun and easy Summary: 4 StarsI learned about the Pogo from an online art group and was forewarned the picture quality wasn't sharp like a camera print would be. That wasn't my reason for buying it. It is a portable and easy-to-use printer for fun only. It connected easily to my point and shoot camera and I printed up family pictures to mount on some magnetic paper I had. My granddaughter adores them scattered all over her refrigerator. She's the real reason I bought this. Photo stickers sounded like too much fun. I'm glad I did. Just don't expect sharp images...a bit grainy but perfectly fine for fun. Will use it in my journal, as well.
